New to the mace?

What is a macebell?

A steel ball on the end of a long handle. Because the weight sits so far from your hands, a light mace feels heavy, and you control it with grip, position and timing rather than brute force.

Used for centuries by warriors and wrestlers to build rotational strength, it's now one of the best tools for strong, mobile shoulders and a resilient core.

Questions

Before you swing

New to the mace? Read our beginner macebell guide for weights, grip and 5 first exercises.

Still deciding? Email KairosNZL@gmail.com or text Hunter on 027 443 8900.

Which weight should I start with?

Most people start at 4 to 6kg. If you are coming from rehab, mobility work or fast athletic training, the 3kg is a great entry point. Stronger lifters who already swing kettlebells often go 8 to 10kg. Still unsure? Message us or try a few at Saturday class.

Is a macebell the same as a steel mace?

Yes. Macebell, steel mace and mace bell are all names for the same tool: a weighted steel ball on the end of a long handle. The Kairos macebell comes in 8 weights from 3 to 20kg.

Macebell or kettlebell?

A kettlebell keeps the weight close to your hands. A macebell puts it far out on a long lever, so a light mace feels much heavier and trains rotational strength, shoulder mobility and grip in a way a kettlebell can't. Plenty of people use both.

Where can I buy a macebell in NZ?

Right here. Order online for delivery anywhere in New Zealand, or choose free pickup at our Saturday class in Ōrewa, Auckland. All 8 weights are stocked in Auckland.

Can I use it on the beach or outside?

Yes. We train on Ōrewa Beach every week. Hard surfaces and salt water can chip the powder coat over time. It is purely cosmetic and does not affect the mace.

Do you ship across New Zealand?

Yes. Shipping is priced by weight at checkout: North Island from $12.80 (3 to 5 business days) and South Island from $25 (3 to 7 business days). Or choose free pickup at our Saturday 8am class at the Ōrewa Surf Lifesaving Club. We ship internationally too.

Is there a warranty?

Every macebell is covered against manufacturing defects. Small cosmetic differences such as weld lines or knurling placement are normal and do not affect safety or performance.

Can you teach me how to use it?

Yes. Join a Saturday class at Ōrewa ($20), grab the Macebell User Manual ($20), book a workshop for your gym or team, or become Kairos certified.

Do you offer wholesale for gyms?

Yes. Gyms and organisations ordering over 50kg of maces get wholesale pricing. Email KairosNZL@gmail.com.
